What better way to beat the winter blues than to plan an exciting summer ...
My family and I have stayed at Sandycove Caravan Park on a number of occasions and have always enjoyed our stay there. The large, relatively quiet beach is a short walk away through the static caravans and there are lots of local attractions in the area (eg: Mount Stewart is 5 minutes drive away and Exploris about 20). There is a childrens play area that older children can use without supervision although it would be really beneficial if there was a play area for younger children within the caravanning area itself. The showers and washrooms are always clean and tidy but could do with a bit of updating. On saying that, unlike a lot of caravan sites, the showers are free and the water is always warm - a big bonus!
I would definitely recommend Sandycove to other caravanners as it is a quiet and well-run caravan park with plenty of space for each caravan/awning and car - you definitely don't feel packed into a small space - and it is situated in a great location on the Ards Peninsula.
